The first of the Nickel Plate Express’ ex-Santa Fe hi-level cars has arrived. This is the replacement operator that has replaced the Indiana Transportation Museum. Service is scheduled to begin September 15.

The Center for Railroad Photography and Art continued to ad to its library of work by iconic railroad photographers. Earlier this year it acquired the Jim Shaughnessy collection of 100,000 images. Now it has received Victor Hand’s collection of almost 50,000 images. 2000 of them have already been digitized.

The Monticello Railway Museum has restored Gulf Mobile & Ohio cement hopper #80129, built in 1953.

Under construction
Seashore Trolley Museum has begun Phase 2 of rebuilding and expanding the Riverside Barn. Phase 1 widened the 280-foot long barn by 20 feet. Phase 2, measuring 60 X 70 feet, extends the entire building, adding room to shelter 10 more cars.

Northern Ohio Railway Museum has added a carbarn addition to house its new electrical substation.
