NYMTA rail line available for lease

Metro North Commuter Railroad has issued an RFP to lease the freight-only Beacon Line. This may be of interest to tourist train operators. Be advised that interested parties must create an account on the MTA website to access the RFP at the link shown below.

City of Beacon to Putnam County Line

MTA/Metro-North seeks Expressions of Interest for the economic utilization of all or part of the 27.6 mile route of the Beacon Rail Line from the City of Beacon to the Dutchess/Putnam County border. 

The purpose of this Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) is to gauge the interest of third parties to utilize the Line in a way that promotes certain goals for Metro-North, including economic development and public use and generating additional revenue.
